http://www.sacramentotallclub.org/stc_submitphotos.htm
1. Take lots and lots of photos at events. With a digital camera, this is an easy thing to do! Especially nice are photos of tall folks having fun!
2. Select some of the best shots. If you can, make any adjustments needed (cropping, red-eye, etc.) before sending them to Cindy.
3. If possible, let her know which event they were taken at and who is in the shots.
4. Email them to Cindy at webmistress@sacramentotallclub.org or, if you have lots of photos, save them on a CD to give to her.
5. If you have a conventional camera, try to find a way to scan them for me prior to sending them. If you can't scan them, feel free to mail them to Cindy. (Contact her at webmistress@sacramentotallclub.org and she can send you my address.) Please let her know if you want the photos returned or if she can keep them or can give them to our club Historian.
6. Cindy will try to get the photos on the web page as soon as time allows.

7. Enjoy looking at all the exciting things we do as a club!

STC webpage hint #2: How to Host an STC eventsent 10/5/09

http://www.sacramentotallclub.org/stc_eventhosting.htm

Hosting an STC event is not as scary as you might think.  We have a webpage with all the guidelines for hosts and hostesses spelled out.  There are so many possibilities for events: home parties, sports events, festivals, dining out, taking a walk… and the list goes on and on!  You don’t have to do it alone, either.  I always suggest that you invite one friend (tall club member or not) to come along with you so that, if no one else shows up, the two of you can have a good time anyway.  Or, invite someone from the club to co-host the event with you.  It is a great way to get to know them better!  And, we always welcome suggestions for events even if you can’t host it.  Someone else may step up to host instead.  If you have any questions or want to host an event, contact the current Social Coordinator at social@sacramentotallclub.org .

Let's have some tall fun out there!  Volunteer to host an event today!

STC webpage hint #8 – STC Scholarships for tall High School Seniors - sent 11/17/09
http://www.sacramentotallclub.org/stc_scholarship.htm

Did you know that every year our club gives out scholarships to at least one and sometimes two fabulous, and tall, high school seniors?  Yep, see the link above for all the information about this wonderful thing we do for tall local teenagers.  There are photos of the winners with a bit about each one.  You can also read the essay they have to write titled “What being tall means to me.”

We do fundraisers during the year to raise money for the scholarships and, depending on how much money we raise, we give out one or two scholarships each year.  We have a special team of volunteers (coordinated by our scholarship chair, Mary Roberts) who read through all the applications and select the winner(s).  You can help out by hosting an event to help raise funds or donating directly to the fund.  Contact Mary (scholarship@sacramentotallclub.org) if you have any questions or would like to volunteer to help.

In addition, our winning scholarship recipient applications are forwarded to TCI for a chance to win additional scholarship money from the TCI Foundation funds.  In 2009, one of our young scholars, Kelly Findlay, won $1000 from TCI in addition to the money we gave to her!

If you know of any other good resources for tall clothing that we haven’t listed, please contact Cindy at webmistress@sacramentotallclub.org so she can add the site.  The Sacramento Tall Club does not endorse any of these web pages or products.  This is strictly to help you find clothing items that might fit the taller person.  Use at your own risk and discretion.  If you have problems with any of these vendors or web pages, please contact the STC Webmistress at webmistress@sacramentotallclub.org so she can remove the link.

Have you missed a fun event because you didn’t have all the details?  Would you like a single-page calendar grid to post on your fridge that shows all the events for a month?  Do you want to know what is happening next month… or the month after?  Well, all you need to do is go to the Sacramento Tall Club’s Events page to find all this and much more! (http://www.sacramentotallclub.org/stc_events.htm

When you click on the Events tab near the top of most STC webpages, it will take you to the STC Events page, which is packed full of useful information.  The first link you will find takes you to a “Quick Look” of our calendar grid for that month.  If you would like to print this out and post it on your fridge, click on the link that says “View and print out the calendar grid.” This grid includes addresses and phone numbers for all the public venues for that month.  During the month, new events may be added or changes may be made to existing events, so check back to see if you have latest version.  (On each calendar grid there is the date of the latest update.)

Below that you will find a link to go to the “Member’s Only” area for a Detailed Calendar of Events for that month.  This detailed calendar has all the information you need for all the events for that month, including home addresses, phone numbers, RSVP information, and much more.  Once again, as events are added or details change, the calendar details will be updated during the month.  Check back frequently to get the latest information on all our events.

If you want to see what we have scheduled for upcoming months, just click on the link for the month you are interested in.  We will have confirmed and tentative events listed.  This is especially important if you want to host an upcoming event and want to know which dates are free.  Of course, these are only tentative calendars, so check back often to see the latest changes and updates.

Also on this page are links to “How to Host an Event”, the TCI weekends and convention pages and a link to a page that has information about upcoming events hosted by other TCI tall clubs, including our sister NorCal tall clubs.

As you can see, there is a lot happening on the Events page!!  So, why don’t you take some time to look around and become familiar with all it has to offer!
